Bad Hair Days

Bad Hair Days is a fun class incentive program we use everyday to stay focused and on task.

Everyday, our class begins with a funny or silly face that has 10 hairs.  Throughout our day, there may be times when our class is a bit talkative or unfocused.  At that point, I say, "1,2,3, listen".  If by listen we are back on task and ready for what's ahead, we move on.  But, if our entire class is not ready by 'listen', we erase a hair.  Our goal is to end every day with at least 1 hair.  If we don't end the day with at least a hair, and ultimately, we go bald, we do not add a tally toward our class reward.  However, most days we do end with at least 1 hair left.  If we do that, we add a tally toward our class reward.  

Class rewards are created by the class. We brainstorm ideas together, talk about logistics of those ideas, and eventually narrow our choices and vote.  Many of our ideas that we did not use for a current reward will be used as a possible idea in a future round of rewards.
